§ The story

A career spent inside the work.

I've spent the past fifteen years inside humanitarian and development organizations — building program budgets, closing donor reports at 11 PM on a Friday, explaining variance to a country director, and rebuilding a proposal budget the night before submission. The work taught me that finance is not the opposite of mission; it's the quiet infrastructure that makes mission possible.

I started consulting independently to bring that experience to organizations that don't need (or can't afford) a full-time finance director, but who deserve the same caliber of support. I work with local NGOs preparing their first institutional proposal, with international organizations reforecasting across multiple country offices, and with everything in between.

My promise is simple: clear, honest, donor-ready numbers — and enough context around them that your team understands what they mean. No jargon, no pretense, no scope creep.

§ Track record

The work, on the record.

Fifteen years at the International Rescue Committee and Global Communities — across field missions, country-program leadership, and headquarters finance in New York.

§ How I work

Principles, not process.

Every engagement is different. These are the things I hold constant, no matter the shape of the work.

  • Fit the organization, not the other way around.

I read your chart of accounts before I write anything. The numbers have to match how your team actually operates — or they won't hold up once the work is live.

  • Confidential, always.

Financial data is sensitive. I treat it with the same discretion I would expect for my own work, and I'm happy to sign an NDA before any material is shared.

  • Proactive about risks.

If I see a compliance issue, a cost-recovery gap, or a donor-template mismatch, I flag it early — even if it's outside the scope you originally hired me for.

  • Done is better than perfect.

Proposal deadlines don't move. I prioritize shipping clean, defensible work on time, and iterating after — never the other way around.
